At a time when the digital transformation is moving forward at an accelerated pace, effectively boosted by the conditions imposed by the pandemic, it is logical that this trend is reflected in the financial results of the companies leading this ongoing digital «revolution».
The numbers, though, reported by the Wall Street Journal are – to say the least – astonishing. The combined revenue for the five biggest U.S. tech companies — Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp. , Amazon.com Inc., Google-parent Alphabet Inc., and Facebook Inc. — grew by a fifth, to $1.1 trillion, while their aggregate profit rose an even faster 24%.
The trend is clear, irreversible, and undoubtedly shows the immediate future. Everything and everyone, even those that may have been resisting up to now, will either launch a digital form or be completely digitally transformed.
For communication, this trend is anything but new. We must certainly though keep in mind that a digital strategy is not essentially a choice but a one-way direction.
What remains actually of value, is to determine which of the choices within the framework of digital communication seem to be more effective.
According to a big research carried out by socialinsider, Instagram remains the primary choice for brand communication, while image is still the most common form of content across all platforms.
