On the occasion of the annual performance update published by Facebook for 2020, the interest does not so much lie with the “good news” that is anyway rather self-evident.
Yes, Facebook remains the “king” of social media and still manages to grow year by year. On an interesting note, however, it is noteworthy that Daily Active Users in the US and Canada have declined slightly. Is this an indication that the platform is reaching its ceiling? We ‘ll have to wait and see.
2020, however, was a year in which the popular platform found itself to be the target of several “attacks”, and even very recently, the decision to shut down Donald Trump’s account, was met with skepticism by many.
And as we await the decision of the Independent Oversight Board on the case of the former US President, it seems that 2021 will be a very important year for the fate of Facebook and all Social Media for that matter.
