It seems that the parallel development of VR technology and the speed of connectivity really bring together such “futuristic” possibilities that until recently were identified with science fiction.
This is certainly not the first time you have heard of something similar, but it is possible that metaverse will indeed prove to be the internet’s tomorrow offering options that will change the world as we know it today.
It is not only that Facebook is going to hire 10,000 people in Europe to develop the metaverse. It is mainly that the technological conditions are gradually maturing in order to take the next step.
Guided by the leaps in VR technology, the prospects of 5G and the roads that gaming has already opened, it is not unlikely that in the near future, instead of standing in front of a computer, we might as well be using our headset and entering a virtual world to connect to any kind of digital environment.
According to current estimations, this mini revolution is about 10-15 years away. Let’s wait and see…
